The Abu Dhabi Oil Refinery Company (Takreer) is moving on with its Ruwais refinery expansion in UAE.
This refinery expansion will add a capacity of 400,000 b/d crude oil to the actual 417,000 b/d.
The Capital expenditure is estimated around $10 billion
The refining units should have the following capacities:
– 59,800 b/d Unsaturated LPG treatment unit
– 37,800 b/d C4-cut purification system
– 127,000 b/d Residue fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC)
– 26,000 b/d Butane Isomerization unit
– 40,930 b/d Naphtha hydrotreater
– Delayed Coker
– Slurry Hydro-desulphurization Unit
– Carbon Black Unit
– Distillate Hydro Treating Unit
– Propane Dehydrogenation Unit to convert propane into 500,000 t/y propylene
– Coke calcification Unit
This refinery should produce propylene, unleaded gasoline, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation turbine fuel, kerosene, gas-oil & bunker fuel
Samsung submits $2.5 billion Carbon Black best offer
All the South Korean contractors Daewoo Engineering & Construction, GS Engineering & Construction, Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, SK Engineering & Construction were in competition together with Saipem from Italy on this Carbon black package.
The tenders opening revealed that Samsung is the lowest bidder with an offer around $2.5 billion.
The Carbon black contract includes the engineering, procurement and construction of the:
– 40,000t/y Carbon black plant
– 30,000b/d Delayed coker unit
– Hydrogen processing facilities
The completion is expected in 2014

The project should go to any one of the pioneers like foster wheeler or Bechtel. Korean companies may mess up the project, due to its complexity.
I have more than 10 years of experience in CARBON BLACK manufacturing process operation.
I wish to work with takree and as well with samsung for the said project…
